Teacher Bio.

Courtney Cox is currently in her 11th year of teaching elementary education.  She holds multiple degrees from Point Loma Nazarene University: a Bachelor's Degree in Education (with a minor in Spanish), a Masters in Teaching and Learning, and an Administrative Services Credential.
 
Originally from Los Angeles County, Ms. Cox moved to San Diego to study in the sunshine and take advantage of all the outdoor activities San Diego has to offer.

Independent Study All Day Monday 8/10

ANY Zoom? NO [All teachers have professional development]
6th Graders Have Independent Study:
1) Khan Academy Mastery Goals - 30 minutes students' choice!
2) Reading Plus - 30 minutes (1 SeeReader, 1 Vocab, 1 Visual Skills)
3) Cave Art Assignment! [On Google Classroom > History/Science]
**All 6th graders know this information, and also know that they should also use this time to catch up on any missing assignments**

6th Graders Have Independent Study:
1) Finish HP Ch. 3-5 RATES (DUE at 2:00 PM)
2) Finish 1st Draft of Narrative #2 (DUE at 3:00 PM)
**All 6th graders know this information, and also know that if they finish all their work (including Reading Plus)--they get a half day****

Tuesday 7/28 @ 6 PM - 6th Grade ZOOM Back to School Night

Dear 6th Grade Parents,
Come join me over Zoom on Tuesday 7/28 at 6 PM for 6th Grade's Zoom Back to School Night.  I would love to meet with you all to discuss how you can help your student be successful this year!   I will email the Zoom link and password on Tuesday 7/28. Save the date.

Cox Distance Learning Schedule - School Starts Monday @ 8:30

It was so great to see everyone today at the Meet and Greet!  Here is an additional copy of my class schedule.  Students have access to this exact schedule in their Google Classroom in Important Information.  The password to the Zoom link is also in Google Classroom OR you can email me directly.
6th grade begins this Monday at 8:30 (not 8 like in the email)

Thursday 7/16 @ 12:00 - 12:30 - 6th Grade Meet and Greet

The event is located in the parking lot on the corner of Naples Street and Melrose Avenue. The parking lot at the top of the hill has a drive up lane where we can safely meet. I will be providing a bag of basic supplies for each student as you drive through.  In case you are unable to make it, I have attached a suggested supply list (all items can be found at the dollar store).
I can't wait to see everyone!
