When

7/28/2022, 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Chula Vista Police Department will be attending this drill to check safety and protocols.

If inside:
• Remain at the door and wave in as many students as possible while it is safe to do so, then immediately close & lock the doors/windows.
• Students are to get on the floor near the wall.
• Lock windows and close curtains/blinds.
• Use staff email distribution list to send updates.
• Take attendance and update the staff email distribution list indicating if any student is missing from the class, and make reference to any extra students in your classroom.
• Do NOT use radios, televisions or telephones in classrooms. Use of cell phones may restrict access to airwaves.

• Do NOT open/unlock doors until directed by Law Enforcement or Site Administrator.
• Do NOT evacuate if a fire alarm is pulled (this could be a tactic used by the suspect)

If outside:
• Staff will direct students into nearby classrooms or school buildings (e.g., auditorium, library, cafeteria). Teachers and students will remain in the classroom or secured area until further instructions are given by Law Enforcement or Site Administrator.
