Anna Becker

This is Ms. Becker's second year as a Physical Educator with LdV. She is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from Illinois State University in Bloomington, Illinois. Before beginning as an educator in 2010, she worked in Marketing and Customer Relations for local professional sports teams. When Ms. Becker was a student, her favorite subjects were Math and Art. In her free time, she likes to travel, read, and explore San Diego.

Jennifer Gianelli

I grew up in San Diego and went to UC Santa Barbara and Cal State San Marcos. I taught Kindergarten and 1st grades for 8 years in a Dual Immersion Program. I left teaching for a year to spend time with my daughter who is now 5 years old. From there I was fortunate enough to come to LdV where I have taught 4th and 1st grade. I had my son almost 2 years ago and enjoy chasing him around!

Lialie Ibrahim

Lialie Ibrahim (Ms. L) has been working with youth for 12 years as a coach, mentor, teacher and director of youth programs. She was born and raised in northern California and attended San Francisco State for her bachelors in journalism and international relations. She had a brief stint in print and radio journalism before pursuing another passion of hers, sports. She attained her master degree from San Jose State in sports management while working with underserved youth on probation at county schools. She eventually received her teaching credential from Cal State Monterey Bay. In her personal time, Ms. L. enjoys playing on her basketball team, swimming and running. She is also a southern California ambassador for Ragnar Relays, a 200 mile relay race she runs with a team of 11 other people. Ragnar's take place in over 15 states around the U.S. While Ms. L. spent a lot of time teaching subjects inside the classroom, she enjoys teaching PE outside and helping kids stay healthy at LdV.

Nicole Johnson

My name is Nicole Johnson. I went to college at San Jose State University where I earned my degree in Child and Adolescent Development. I received my masters and credential from UC Irvine. I grew up in San Diego, Paradise Hills to be exact. This will be my 5th year teaching kindergarten. I am very excited to be embarking on this new school year. I also get excited while reading, listening to TED talks, painting, hiking, swimming and rock climbing.

Natalie Kirkland

I am proud to be one of the few San Diego natives! I grew up in Fallbrook, a small town in north county, with my identical twin sister. We went to college together at the University of San Diego, where I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology. Upon graduating I spent a few years building literacy programs at local schools with Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, as well as beginning my own non-profit summer program for at-risk children. These experiences made me realize that I was meant to be a classroom teacher! I went back to school at Cal State San Marcos and as soon as I received my credential I sought out a teaching position at LdVCS - I knew it was the perfect school for me! This is my fifth year teaching, three of which I spent in third grade before transitioning to fifth. Faith and family are my anchors! My husband and I live in Little Italy and so enjoy all there is to do in that area, especially going to see live music and getting outdoors. I also see my twin and dad as often as possible. In any free time that I have I love hiking, yoga, hitting the gym, as well as traveling and trying out all of the amazing restaurants around town with my friends. I feel blessed to be a part of the LdVCS family!

Keri Miller is a sixth grade teacher at LdV and was born and raised in San Diego. This is her tenth year teaching elementary, with experience in public, private and charter schools in both San Diego and New York City. She has a degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in English and Social Studies. She's excited to continue using the skills she's acquired implementing the Common Core Standards in her Charter School in Harlem, New York City near Columbia University. Much of her life, she's spent enjoying her favorite hobby, musical theater, which is how she and her husband met. They moved back here in 2013 from their little apartment in Manhattan, and couldn’t be happier to be back home with their two kittens and desert tortoise.
